"The painting, as I understand it, is a practice that comes from the intimate depths, it is not premeditated, not by a body of rules, has nothing to do with logic, it is spontaneous, impulsive, passionate. The image which it gives rise is the compromise between the will of the painter and the randomness of the ancient world, the intuition of the artist and the strict laws of physics.
In painting, the "case" is essential and crucial for the success of the work, but it cause and effect are given only once. That's why every time you want to repeat the same effect, causing the same reason, we fall into the rhetoric and the work fails".
