Artist, Nuoro, Italy, joined 12 years ago
Short Biography.
Stefano was born in Nuoro on November 3, 1977. After its graduation in 2004 at the Institute of Art of Nuoro, he received his bachelor's degree in decoration at the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence with a final score of 110/110 with honours.
Immediately he started to collaborate with various cultural associations and schools where developed several projects based on the manipulation, wall painting, street art and creative recycling.
In 2007 he exhibited his works at the museum of modern and contemporary art "Antonio Ortiz Echague" of Atzara with a personal exhibition entitled "Worlds". In the same year, he worked in the cinematographic field, cooperating with the Sardinian director Salvatore Mereu. Indeed, he took part of the staff of the scenic design department as assistant of the art director for the movie "Sonetaula" produced by Lucky Red.
After this period, it followed several personal and group exhibitions, and some of his works are part of various public and private collections. He currently lives and works in Nuoro. He takes part of the collective "Seuna Lab".
His artistic career, like that of many artists of his generation in his hometwon, strarts from the street. Indeed, the Hip Hop culture has found a fertile ground in Nuoro to sprout up , especially for its particular competitive nature and its Group dynamics. The work of Marongiu, who for several years has also had a musical counterpart, focused on the earth. A vision of the world which starts from the stony and rough Barbagia and opens itself to the wider reality. His work is inspired by signals taking out from the web searching engine and the militaristic frameworks – symptom and symbol of those who feel the planet under control, whether by the CCTV cameras or by the continuous scanning of the globe made by satellites or drones. The visual result is a landscape / map imagery, vivid in colours which are perceived as a mimicry. This is not necessarily the son of the street art, but still it is close to a hybrid language, stratified, caracterized by manual-action as well as by the composition of several supports.

Feeling lost is a very common experience in modern cities. The presence of people and the use of a series of devise help us to find the way: for example street maps, street numbers and signs, and maps distributed by pubblic service companies. Although, it might happen to feel disoriented. It is at this point that a sense of anxiety and sometimes of terror could appear revealing to us how the sense of orientation is intimately tied to our sense of balance and well-being. That is the reason why, in our language, , the word "lost" means much more than simple geographical uncertainty: indeed, it also evokes a sense of total disaster.
Lynch researcher of architecture 1960, "The image of the city ".
