Time is a tape that turns, seemingly outside, actually inside us. A ribbon positioned between the gears of the eye, recording everything we see of the skin, recording everything that has warmed or frozen us, of the heart, recording all the infinitesimal emotions, positive or negative, of smells, tastes and of the sound of words, beautiful, ugly and bad. Everything is imprinted on this tape by writing and overriding everything relentlessly beyond our control and our will, I wonder with hindsight if our tape was not already someone else's before us, and we inherited partly lived another. If we want we can rewind the tape and catapult us into another time, the time of smiles and the first exciting discoveries, the time of dreams and fantasies. With the time and the infinite baggage of "things" absorbed and perceived through sight we realize that it is more stimulating to create a true reality, that exalts it and praises it, by now aware that reality is other than the imitation of it . My painting has always been upbeat, in corrosion and in digging and engraving, both on a technical and philosophical level and so similarly to a sculptor who sees the form inside the stone I see the image on the surface I create or look for, so it is success for the 4 works "Under the Rust" but also for the "Dust Figures", works that I kept in my mind for a long time. As you can see, they are created in layers or in layers where everything has the same importance, everything was part of my vision (even the cracking of paint, the scratch or the rusty screw) from the container of this image, to the first level given by a glass engraved, to the objects contained, to the background image, the whole gives a three-dimensionality that goes beyond the painting but that has been conceived in a pictorial way. All the works in the catalog "The Walls of Time" are a compass of time, closed, impassable, incomprehensible in full and above all changeable over time, what will happen inside the work will be part of it in an essential way.
