"... I would say that Pinocchio is highly circumstantial, which is a book of traces, footprints, riddles, jokes, leaks, that every word puts an end."                                                                                    Pinocchio: a parallel book, Giorgio Manganelli, Adelphi. The photographic series "Hotel Pinocchio" is based on the book by Carlo Collodi's "The Adventures of Pinocchio Story of a Puppet." I want to focus on ten key events of the novel and put them in the building to fall sets that enhance and highlight the first "magic" of the story, the symbolic power of the characters and situations. I'm interested in power that had this book to enter the collective and the common language so as to be shared metaphor to name a few circumstances (just think of the nose as a symptom of synonymous and lie, all'accezione that define someone as the "The cat and the Fox," the meaning of the "Playland" ...). In line with my previous work I want to focus on the evocative power of the story, essentialize passages and make them more today than at the time when the novel is set. My research starts from the study of the material produced around the story of the puppet, the film versions that have been learned - those of Julius Antamoro, Luigi Comencini, Roberto Benigni among the most famose- the illustrations, essays and writings of the most celebrated around history with particular attention to rewriting / analysis Giorgio Manganelli in his "Pinocchio: a parallel book." It will be important to search for places and faces right, the preparation of the clothes in order to build real mise en scene. The rooms as a place where literary and stage occur the key events will be indicated with the reference number of the chapter of the novel. The idea is to create symbolic images that can be strongly suggestive both individually and as a whole composed in a single vision.
