Statement I want to shimmer color on the canvas. I paint PANORAMA'S: soft, hard, urban and personal ones. A PANORAMA is about the perception and experience of their own environment. I’ve always felt the need, to paint my vision of my environment: achieving mapping. I am inspired by the actual (physical / mental) space. Often I take a (panorama) photo of the environment, and look at it in a later date to see it consciously better. So I make images, landscapes full of representations of my perceived environment: hard and soft landscapes. The ‘hard’ panorama is a representation of the physical space and refers to the observable form of city buildings and asphalt. The ‘soft’ panorama refers to the experience, the subjective experiences and expectations of users of a place. Panorama is also a ‘Summary’ in the sense of evaluation, a summary of an event, a period. Here some panoramic pictures (click on the image to open the series). Drawn or painted, which is visible? Is the Reality of a panorama not always double-interpretable? http://www.spaltro.nl/
