Chitra Ramanathan's body of work explores the theme of happiness. Her extensive body of widely collected originals have been acquired by individual and corporate buyers and commissioned as site-specific public art installations in the United States, where the India-born artist resides, exhibits and teaches painting at the Art School of the Vero Beach Museum of Art, Florida USA. Chitra Ramanathan received her Bachelors degrees in Painting from Stella Maris College, Chennai, India and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, USA. Her work has been exhibited since 1994 immediately after her graduation from the University of Illinois, with several galleries on Broadway, New York.
