Site specific installation, balloons, knifes, plastic yarn, forex panel, dimension: variable Slightly disturbing is Untitled (2015), an installation where black knives hang from balloons, the multicolored ones used for kids birthday parties. Also in this case, the artist plays with the opposites. Between game and a dramatic threat, between childhood memory and contemporary tensions. Schiavon is teasing the viewer, he loves to provoke and get a reaction. Probably quite unconsciously, or on a mere aesthetic purpose, the knife handles are black – the color of the Islamic state flag. Perhaps an interpretation, maybe not shared by the author himself, but the artworks, if well-conceived, have to be talked about. E.C. March 2016 Riccardo Schiavon was born in 1986.
