Quan Yin is the Chinese Goddess of compassion and the central figure of this composition. She sits in peaceful repose and meditation, working with the masculine and feminine energies of the Sun (figure on her right) and the Moon (figure to her left) to restore balance within all. Quan Yin understands that all beings hold the values of light and dark within them, and that all is seated in Love.
She is unafraid to meet her shadow self (smaller figure near her left breast), who is smiling with joy at being forgiven and released.
The small figure approaching her (center left), is seen at the bottom of the mountain of compassion that she is. How will this being travel up the mountain to greet her? Will she walk? Climb? Fly? We all have the greatest capacity for compassion, even for our greatest ‘enemy’. She offers us her divine and sacred wisdom to return to the space of peace and healing that is the eternal, and our own recognition of the shadow within us all.
When this occurs, we are reunited with our Solar Families, as is depicted with the form of our Solar System on her right and directly below the figure of the Sun.
