Fictional portraits inspired by the war in Syria. Memories of a family that doesn’t really exist and never existed. A father, a mother and a child put together in a triptych. I searched for personal contact with these fantasies, a calm conversation about the personal tragedy of each one of them. Far from the horrors of war, as if we were at a confession one before the other. A conversation with phantasms asking and accusing, grieving and understanding… Unreal collective images of millions of real human tragedies. I’ve tried to place them beyond the frames of being, associating them with Christian Orthodox icons which wish to be among us and face the viewer in silence.
