'sinking of inkwazi' is an appropriation of the raft of the medusa. The painting was depicting South African political and social issues using animal head to portray character of certain individuals. In this artwork I was a mediating to the people of the current issues of that time in south Africa and how the country was slowly sinking, therefore I use the raft as a symbol of the country and the title inkwazi is the name of the south African President private jet name.
