Exploring Japanese erotic art and recontextualising it in tropical scenes has been an important part of my work. To the cleanliness of Japanese forms, I add the joy, the irony, the sordidness of our way of seeing. That urban and dirty realism that is in our literary narrative. This work is an open door to our imperfections.
