Projects All projects presented to 'beyondmemory' must relate to the theme proposed by Marinella Paderni. Each project can contain one work or upto a maximum of 10 works – containing photographs and/or videos – supported by a textual statement. Works and statements can be uploaded directly by artists from personal accounts in Celeste Network, and instantly published in the appropriate area onsite called ‘Beyondmemory’.
Who can Submit? 'beyondmemory' is an international call for projects, in which artists or artist groups members of Celeste from anywhere in the world can participate without limits of age, sex or profession.
Deadline Projects can be presented directly online no later than midnight 29 February 2012. Extension: last day to submit 6 March.
Fee 30 € for each project (contains one work or upto a maximum of 10 works). Shortlist Selections A shortlist of 10 selected projects made by a Selection Committee which includes Giovanna Calvenzi, Daniele De Luigi and George Tatge will be announced on 31 March 2012. The 10 selected projects will be exhibited in the fmsgallery of the Fondazione Studio Marangoni in Florence, Italy.
Production and Transport Selected artists invited to exhibit their works in the fmsgallery, Florence, will be responsible for their personal travel costs, and all costs related to the transport of their works to and from the exhibition. Only works which are at the exhibition can be considered for the prizes.
Exhibition and Prizes The three winning projects will be chosen by Marinella Paderni and announced on 15 May at the opening of the exhibition, which will last from 15 May to 12 June 2012. Following the announcement of selected projects, the curator of the exhibition Marinella Paderni will decide whether some or all of works in each selected project will be exhibited, having taken into consideration the nature of all other selected projects and available exhibition space.
Catalogue A catalogue containing images of all selected works, as well as brief artists’ bios, and critical texts with be published.
Rights Artists retain copyright of all works and texts they upload, but give Celeste Network the right to use them for communication and promotion purposes only: to create the prize catalogue or other promotional material associated with the prize, and in Celeste's websites. Artists who submit works to 'beyondmemory' declare and accept that they are the authors of the images they upload and possess all rights to use these images, including musical scores if used. Artists guarantee that they have received permission and authorization, as required by law, from persons represented in their photographic or video works, or from their legal representatives. The organizer is not and cannot be held responsible for any dispute among artists and persons or third parties who might claim author’s rights over images of a work.
*Celeste Network has by Italian law to hand over to the Italian state 25% of prize money for tax purposes. This sum will be withheld by the organizer from each prize winner. A prize winner who is non-resident in Italy can request the Italian tax authorities to have his or her tax advance recredited in his/her country of residence, this is a suggestion and in no way represents a certainty guaranteed by Celeste Network.
