Biography
The Wooloo group was founded in 2002 in Copenhagen, Denmark and operates through the medium of social experimentation. Mixing digital communicatio with physical participation, Wooloo has developed a working method based on the advocacy of collectivism.
Wooloo’s first work was an online experiment in community: the ongoing wooloo website, that currently connects the resources of more than 20,000 cultural producers in 150 countries.
More recently, the group organized ‘New Life Copenhagen’ - the housing of 3,000 activists with private families during the UN climate change summit in Copenhagen in 2009. Supplying the infrastructure for visitors to come and voice their opinion - and for strangers to share their homes and experiences - this Wooloo project was a large-scale exercise in communal cooperation.
